Vendor Beth Jessup said her father Tony was a month off 98 when he died. He moved into the house when he was 36 with his wife Carmel, and she and her sister.
“Rodd Point then could be a little high on the nose at times, with the stench of seaweed and actual chemicals from factory runoffs that lined the Parramatta River foreshore,” Ms Jessup said.
“A dredging of Iron Cove happened sometime in the late 1960s, which put pay to that. The marine life multiplied again, the health of the ecosystem returned, and property prices started to move.”
